A wig can give self-confidence, strength, and hope to someone struggling with the emotional challenges of hair loss.
If you are healthy, you know that a presentable appearance boosts self-confidence. This is no less true when you are ill. Cancer and its treatment courses often have an impact on people’s appearance. Although it often involves temporary changes, the impact can be high for anyone struck by it. Additional attention and care for this changing appearance can mean a lot to these people.
The Hair Foundation aims to support a specific group of females, who themselves lack the funds to purchase a wig, in their external appearance and allow them to be themselves once more. The Hair Foundation arranges for wigs to be made from the hair donations it receives on a daily basis, so that this group is given the opportunity to wear a wig, free of charge.
We cannot realise this project without your help! We need as much hair donations as possible in order to help a maximum number of people! Hair donations can be made starting at 30 centimetres, but the longer the better! This will be used to create wigs for women who really need it, without them incurring any costs. Make someone happy with your hair! Hair donations that cannot be used for the creation of wigs of the quality that we want to guarantee will be used for other projects to help people with hair problems and hair diseases.
Guidelines for Measuring and Cutting Your Hair Donation
If you want to donate your hair, bear in mind the following:
- All natural colours are welcome, yet we also like to receive dyed hair!
- The minimum length is 30 centimetres.
- Send in the dry, clean and bundled in a tress.
- Hair does not decay, so if you have an old tress lying around, you can make us very happy indeed!

The costs for sending hair to the Hair Foundation
A tail has an average weight of 30-90 grams. The costs for sending your hair in a strong envelope to the Hairbank are only $1 – $4!
